My name is Sara Schneider, the girl behind Mad Girl Illustrations.

I am a 23 year old self-taught artist living in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. My aspiration is to become a great illustrator, and my influences are both modern comic-style and Art Nouveau, specifically the works of Alphonse Mucha. My work has been featured in small galleries, a film festival when I animated a short film on Hurricane Katrina, and one piece made for a local coffee chain was put on a shirt that were prizes for participants in a charity 5k run. A number of my illustrations pertaining to Alice in Wonderland will be compiled in a book alongside other artists from around the world. Publish date is currently unknown.

My preferred tools are ink and colored pencils, though I do use many other mediums including digital media. My preferred subjects are women.

I am bipolar, or manic depressive if you prefer, and often use my warped sense of reality in my work as well as a form of therapy. My work is improving all the time, so what you see now or in my gallery from 3+ years ago may not describe me or my style and vision tomorrow or next year. The only constant in life is change.
